Origin by Ocean is pioneering regenerative marine biotechnology. Through our patented biorefining process, we transform invasive Sargassum into high-purity ingredients such as fucoidan and alginate, serving beauty, personal care, nutraceutical, food and material science sectors.
As we transition from pilot to our First-of-a-Kind commercial biorefinery, we are expanding our commercial team. We are looking for an Account Manager capable of securing multi-year offtake agreements and being a key player in our high-performance global sales organisation.
The Role
We are building our sales team to accelerate our growth. This is an early-stage role at a company with real traction and a clear path to scale.
You will own a portfolio of active accounts from first meeting through to commercial agreement. You will manage the sample process, guide prospects through formulation and product testing, and close the deals that are in the funnel.
The pipeline exists. Your job is to move it.
What you will do
- Run the active pipeline across global accounts, from initial conversations to commercial terms.
- Own the process end to end and compress the sales cycle at every stage for clients across Europe and North America
- Close commercial agreements when a brand is ready to commit.
- Be the connective tissue between the customer, the R&D team, and operations.
- Represent ObO at trade events, knowing the industry and the key players.
- Feed the organisation with what you learn in the field: pricing signals, claims gaps, competitive intelligence.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years in a closing sales role.
- You have sold ingredients, actives, or raw materials into cosmetics, personal care, or nutraceuticals.
- You understand what a formulation director needs to make a decision and how long it realistically takes.
- You can hold a complex, multi-stage global pipeline without losing momentum
- You know the difference between a warm account and a stalling one, and you know what to do about it.
- You are organised and disciplined: the CRM is up to date and blockers are flagged early.
- You are motivated by the mission and want to be part of building it.
- A competitive streak. You want to be at the top of the leaderboard.
- You operate with autonomy and you are a first principles problem solver.
